Summer Lovin'

Summer is so great in that it allows you so much freedom to do what you want with your time (for the most part)! Because my brother's girlfriend, Laura, is leaving for college in the fall I wanted to get some pictures of them before she left. (And it was a great excuse to use my new camera! Yayyy for early birthday presents!) They were so cooperative and patient with me while I was learning all the bells and whistles on my camera, and when it started pouring rain the second we stepped outside... But we had such a great time anyway! They are hilarious together! Here are some of the best ones I got, but again, new camera so I had to play with the lighting some, and embrace the weather- I'm still learning :)

Baby Hallie

I had the awesome opportunity to meet Hallie Burtch the other day. Sarah her mother, used to babysit me for years and now it's my time to return the favor! Hallie was precious and such a joy to be around (which I was so thankful for!!) Here are a few of my favorites from our time together.

First timer blogger

I’ve always wanted to start a blog but have been hesitant because 1. I don’t like the idea of people you don’t know having the ability to read whatever you write, and 2. I am so technologically challenged and get frustrated easily! The internet is still a feature at which I am a novice, even after years of required typing and PowerPoint classes that were miserable and got me no where. I still associate making a PowerPoint for a 300 level nursing class with the devil-of-a-teacher I had in the 6^th grade. I don’t own an iPhone, my iPod doesn’t have the ability to have “apps,” and I’m waayyy behind when it comes to twitter… tweeting? But thanks to Katie Conway, graphic design goddess and best BigSister ever, I have been a little more at ease! Let me assure you, I am not doing this because of all the extra time that I may or may not have- I have just finally decided it was high time I quit thinking things like “I mean what if people think I am trying to sound like Carrie Bradshaw, just not nearly as thought-provoking and a little more southern?” But I am so thankful for the support of my very best friends (and of course my family- which should go without saying, but I have to say it) who have encouraged me in more ways than I care to list out on this “blog,” and the hope that this might turn into something else than simply a waste of my time in the afternoons on spell check.

I have loved photography my whole life and couldn't help but take advantage of my time this summer. All I know is that I love photography and I am learning and loving more as I go, and I want to share these pictures of beautiful people with everyone!
